Day 5 started at 7:30. Jeremy wanted to try the sit down breakfast since we had some time before our excursion. Jeremy was not impressed. He is not loving the food on this cruise. Our excursion today was Sightseeing of Cagliari & San Sperate Sciola
We took a bus ride to a beautiful panoramic view of the city. It really was beautiful the city on one side and the ocean on the other. Wow! They had a couple salt ponds as well.
~There are 160,000 people that live in Sardinia.
~Pink flamingos are in an abundance here.
They are Preserved and protected here.

We did a little sight seeing on the bus and did a walking tour.
The first town we walked in was San Sperate .
This town was really fun to walk through as there were art murals all over the houses. It was fascinating to see all the different pictures. Can you imagine giving directions to your home? Go past the food mural turn left go down until you see the three men Playing trumpets turn right and my house is the city scene.

Rachel and I were minding our own business with a couple other people reading one of the signs and out of no where this little dog started barking and jumping and scared me to death. Like I screamed and jumped made Rachel scream and jump and a coupe other people scream and jump. Oh my word! It was hilarious.
We stopped at this area that looked like a Rock Grave Yard. Our tour guide told us to walk around for a minute and enjoy the Rocks. The Ambrus’s and I were curious as to why we were at a “Rock Garden” when they said we were going to a museum; this is not what we had imagined.
We walked around and enjoyed and admired the beautiful Rocks each one was carved different and we wondered what tool they used to carve each of the Rocks?
Well it came time for our tour and we learned that this was NOT a Rock Garden. It is an open air museum called the “Sound Garden” this Garden was created by Pinuccio Sciola. He created each and everyone of these rocks to play music.
Talk about opening our eyes and ears to a new world. All of these Rocks are instruments how cool is that? super cool!

Piniccio Sciola carved two different stones
One- Basalt Stones they are the dark rocks. Two- lime stone they are the white rocks. He used a diamond saw to cut the stones and water so the stones would not break.
We got to hear a couple of the stones sounds. It was fascinating. We even got to feel the vibration on one of he stones.
It was the coolest museum. I’m so glad it turned out to be a Sound Garden!
After the museum we headed back on the bus to explore the old city. We got to climb to the top of the hill explore another church see the old city gate and elephant tower, eat some gelato and headed back to the ship at 4:00pm. We had a late lunch and found a perfect area to play some games until dinner.
Tonight at dinner it was a Mediterranean night and they had a lot of fish on the menu. Yuck! We had a wonderful dinner and lots of good conversation.
I was so exhausted after the long day I just wanted to go to bed. So Jer and I said good night and went to find our bed.
