The Iron Glass Chruch

Today we visited Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel locates in Bella Vista in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. The Chapel was constructed around 15 main arches. Within each arch are three or four gothic arches. 
Glass and steal are the building main material. 31 tons of steal join 4,460 square feet of glass. The glass walls measured 48 feet from ceiling to floor. The church is surrounded by Oak and Pine trees. 
When will and I walked inside you felt like you were in the middle of the forest with no structure. You couldn’t tell the walls were glass. This church is a perfect example of man and nature coming together in awe inspiring amazing beauty. 
Will and I sat down and listened it the beautiful music that was playing in the back ground.

Daisy Airgun Museum

Second adventure Daisy Airgun Museum in Rogers, Arkansas.
I honestly did not know anything about Daisy Airguns (I know, I’m not a gun specialist) so for me it was fun learning the history about The daisy airguns, and just how popular they are. Not only had this company been making Airguns for the last 100 years they actually started making windmills. However in the late 1800’s there wasn’t much demand for windmills, so in 1888 Clarence Hamilton brought the prototype for his new air rifle to the board of director Lewis Cass Hough. As he shot the gun he said “Boy, that’s a Daisy” 
Thus creating the name. January 26,1895 the board of directors changed the name of the company to Daisy Manufacturing Company, inc.
Okay I didn’t realize that all those westerns my dad watches the actors used Daisy Airguns. I have clearly seen Daisy Airguns just had know idea they were Daisy Airguns. Even Disney had Daisy Airguns in some of there Mickey Mouse club episodes. 
In 1983 MGM filmed A Christmas story, In the movie “Ralphie wanted an original Red Ryder carbine-action 200 shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time.” 
Daisy Manufacturing Company constructed 3 Airguns with a compass and a sundial in the stock as props for the filming of the movie. 
Over the years Daisy has manufactured nearly 100 different model of top guns, cork guns, water pistols, toy guns, BB guns, air soft guns, and paintball guns. 
Our last adventure of the day was shopping at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade We ended our day with a starbucks caramel frappuccino.

War Eagle Cavern On Bear Lake

Sorry, I didn’t have time to post my adventure yesterday. I talked to my family for hours when Jessenia went to bed so did I. what a fun day!
William and I had three adventure Oct 9,2018. 
First, a trip to the War Eagle Cavern on Beaver Lake.
William and I were the first guests of the day. So the tour guides shared a lot of history and information about the area. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes before we got to see the cavern. We took the opportunity to walk around the area and take pictures. This place was decked out in fall and I loved it! By the time we started the tour one more couple showed up so the four of us headed down to the cavern. 
This was more a “Show Cavern” not so natural. I mean it was naturally formed in areas but a lot of man made comforts. The cavern had electricity a path with handrails etc. we had to walk 50 feet into the cavern before we got into an area that was not man made. I wish we could have gone spelunking that would have taken us deep into the cavern with no lights, treading through the water and scooting on our bums through the cavern. Alas you needed reservations 48 hours in advanced. Boo! The cavern was still impressive and had plenty of beautiful formations. But my favorite part of the entire cavern was the stream that ran throughout. It sounded so peaceful and it was fun to touch the water and see how clear it was we were told we could drink it. However, neither will or I was brave enough to try. Ha! The cavern is the largest in Northwest Arkansas. The entrance is in a boxed canyon at the end of Devils Gap. ( What is it with Arkansas and naming things Devil this, devil that) the mouth of the cave is huge and was actually home to a family durning the Great Depression. Frank and Jesse James found refuge in this cavern. This cavern is home to over 100,000 bats. We got to see some of their layer and their huge pile of guano. We got to see salamanders but we didn’t get to see any bats. After our tour Will and I took a beautiful nature trail to an overlook to see the opening of the cave from the other side.

Devil's Den State Park

Today’s adventure was about 45 min from Bentonville in a Town called Winslow. William and I explored Devil’s Den State Park. A little history The park is located in Lee Creek Valley. In 1933 the park was selected as the site for one of Arkansas first state parks. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) built this beautiful park, they spent almost a decade building roads, trails, bridges, camp grounds, stone walls, cabins, and a rock shelter. Devil’s Den has 2,500 scenic areas full of overlooks, creeks,crevices,and caves. We couldn’t explore any of the caves because the caves are closed to protect the bats from the white nose syndrome that has been killing bats by the millions. 😭
Devil’s Den had some amazing rock formations Will and I had so much fun climbing and exploring all these different formations. I learned Will was afraid of heights and falling. He did a great job going out of his comfort zone and off roading with his crazy Aunt! Will also didn’t like going to the end of the overlooks (fear of falling) however, he was brave and even went to the edge of some of the overlooks. We got to touch The drips of water from the waterfall. There really wasn’t enough water to make a water fall just little drops. But we went and played in the water anyway. We were able to see Devil’s Den Cave (outside) Devil’s Ice Box, Twin falls, cold springs, walk along the rock wall, we got to walk along the suspension bridge. Hold a walking stick, see a water snake, we got to build our very own rock formation to go with all the others. Some of these formations were mind blowing. We got to Explore Fossil Flat Trailhead. We had a picnic lunch while we played would you rather. It really was a perfect day! Forest, bodies of water, hiking, and being surrounded by God’s creations!
