Korean Summer School

Brooklyn & Chandler got to participate in The Korean American Summer School.  What an awesome opportunity!!!! There are 100 Korean Students and 50 American Students.  They get to learn how to write in Korean, Some Korean Folk Dances & Songs, how to make rice paper, how to cook Korean food, Art, Tae Kwon Do and many more activities. Summer School is all day Tue Aug 6-Friday Aug 9.  On Friday they have a big graduation/dinner with a program.  I can't wait. I love that my kids get to enjoy the culture and learn more about living in Korea.
Here is Brooklyn, Summer, and Deja So excited to load the bus.

Chandler and his friend Justin On the bus.  Yeah we get to go to a Korean School.
This is how my kids came off the bus.  Ha ha ha!!!  I love them.  They are in the "RED" group.  There are 8 different groups. Wow that is a lot of groups.   A recap of Day one. They went to their class rooms and introduced themselves.  Brooklyn already made a couple Korean Friends.  Brooklyn kept saying,"How The Korean's  kept pinching her cheeks, and saying how cute she was."  Chandler didn't understand why at lunch they didn't have RANCH!!!  the world has ended for sure.  Bahaha.  After lunch the kids learned how to dance the "Mask" Dance. After the Dance they went to experience Korean cooking.  When the kids were telling me about the cooking it was hilarious.  I guess it smelled really bad.  They were learning how to cook fish and apparently there was a lot of guts involved.  After they cooked it they let all the students try it.  Brooklyn & Chandler were very brave and tried the food.  They didn't care for it.  But I am so happy they tried.  Brooklyn said," You can't judge a book by the cover, You cant' judge food by looking at it." Very grown up.  I heart her.  Brooklyn said, "There was a lot of Paparazzi taking pictures of them." Chandler said, "It was like we were STARS."  What a fun fun day!!!
Brooklyn, got this special mask because she was such a great student.  She answered all the questions correct and the teacher came over and put this on her head.  It looks pretty awesome.  I'm sure it has some awesome meaning but alas I Don't know!!!
Chandler got a mask because he danced really well.  The kids didn't want to take their masks off!!!  So much fun.  I can't wait to hear all the adventures of  Day 2.

Day two was a very long day.  The kids left at 9am and didn't get home until 9pm.  Holy Cow what a long long day. They were so tired.  Some of today's Highlights were, watching Avengers on the bus.  Eating snacks and dinner on the bus. Wearing Headphones so everything wasn't in Korean. And Exploring some fun Museums.
The kids really enjoyed the Children's Museum. Brooklyn was sad they didn't get to spend more time here.  She loved it.  So I guess we need to plan a family adventure to the Children's Museum.  Fun fun!

This Museum was pretty fascinating.  Brooklyn loved all the Pottery.  I guess they had some pretty amazing pottery painted and decorated.  Another Place we as a family need to check out.
Day #4 on the Bus read for our fun day.  Chandler wanted to sit by his best friend Justin.

Brooklyn and Deja ready for their next Korean Adventure.
Today was by far the kids best day.  It was Tae Kwon Do day.  Chandler had a blast breaking boards and  "Punching High, Middle, Low" Chandler even liked the food today.  Yeah!!!!

Brooklyn, came home with No voice.  She was yelling and having so much fun During Tae Kwon Do She got a special board that was personalized and signed just for her.  How cool is that???  Brooklyn, also got to do some art.  What a fun day.  The kids left at 9am and were finished at 4:30pm.  Yeah for early days.  The kids will get to bed early tonight. Tomorrow is another long day and Graduation.
