We are so Thankful...

For wonderful friends, like the Sorensen's.

We are so blessed to have wonderful friends that are like family.
It's hard not to be with family over the holidays.  But great friends kind of make up for not being able to go home for the holiday. We are so "Thankful" they invited us to have Thanksgiving with them.
We started Thanksgiving off with a Yummy breakfast.
The Sorensen's made a yummy Breakfast Casserol and we made
a yummy casserole and Zoe made some yummy pancakes.
After our breakfast of champions Ben,Oat, Jeremy and Kayden
went to play at the church for the Turkey Bowl.  Only here is the problem.  Both Ben
and Jeremy got hurt.  Poor Ben came home limping and Jeremy hurt his
neck and shoulder.  AWESOME!!!  Poor Jeremy had to get a shot of Toradol
in his (you know what)  and if Ben didn't feel better he was
going to see Lyle a Physical Therapist.  It's kind of funny these Men
go out and play the Turkey Bowl and come back injured.  Maybe they need
to play Football more then once a year?  Maybe?
This year for the table setting I thought it would be fun to make these Turkeys. Thanks to Pintrest.
My new addiction. So for FHE we made these cute little guys.  We made 16 of them.  We were suppose to have another family join us but their plans were changed last minute.
They turned out sooooo cute.  They were a little time consuming but totally worth the end result.

I also made these cute turkey cups for the kids.  Again
thanks to Pintrest.  Love them!!!
This is Oat Montol Tadaamnuaychai (Oat) he is the
Sorensen's foreign exchange student from Thailand. This
is his very first Thanksgiving. He and Kayden really enjoyed
each others company.  They worked and played together all day.
Here is the Table setting.  Very nice!
Brooklyn and Greysen were the only ones interested in the crafts
I planned.  They colored and made cute Turkey hats.
 Here is Ben's Beautiful Turkey!!!

We had appitizers around lunch time.  There is never a shortage
of food with the Sorensen's and the Bastian's.
Some of my favorite appitizers were the new crainberry creamcheese
with crackers.  The Jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon and the spinach and artichoke hearts in wonton wrappers.  YUMMY!!!!
I never did get a picture of all our Thanksgiving food.  HUMMM!!
And I never got a picture of everyone sitting for Thanksgiving. HUMM!!!
Here we are getting everything set for our glorious delicious meal.
Almost ready to eat.

I really had a great time making pies this year.  My Friend
Jenn West makes the best pies. So I asked her to come
teacher me how to make her yummy crust.
I tried a couple new pies this year.  I had never made a Berry Pie, Coconut Cream pie,
or a pumpkin with a Gingersnap crust.
We of course made our traditional Pumpkin, Pecan and Jeremy's Sweet Potato pie.
We definitely have a lot to be Thankful for!

How to Host a Murder The good the bad and the Ugly

Jeremy and I were invited to a "How to Host a Murder". Jeremy was Wyatt Hertz, and I was Helena Handcart. Jeremy was the sheriff of a town called Roadkill, he also owned a company called, "Hertz rent a horse". Helena owned half the territory, and a cattle ranch. I  had 13 boys and they all died in a shoot out. We were suppose to dress our part.  I of course was  mourning the loss of all 13 kids so I was dressed in all black with a huge broach. And Jeremy looked like the Sheriff. We had a wonderful night.  The Menu was delicious.  We had Chips and three different dips. A yummy dinner Salad with lots of trimmings.  Pulled pork, Pulled chicken sandwiches, Green beans and Rice Pilaf.  Amanda also made pie and cinnamon apples.  Yummy!! We had a really good time.  Lots of laughing and accusing going on. Thanks Amanda and Matt for a fun evening.

Veteran's Day Program

LeAnn Haven the kids amazing music teacher arranged
this awesome line up of 11-11-11. Picture from Dan Seabrook of the Wenatchee World paper.
Jeremy was featured on the front page of the Wenatchee World.

Brooklyn was invited to participate in Music Mondays. As part of this Program they did a special program for Veteran's Day.  Jeremy was also invited to come. Brooklyn, was so excited!

Here is the photographer Dan Seabrook from The Wenatchee World Paper getting their names.
Here they are walking onto the field. This is one of those moments many people teared up.
 I love this picture.
Jer soluting the flag as we sang, The National Anthem
The Star Spangled Banner.
Here is Brooklyn doing her part in the program.  They sang 9-11
and Brooklyn marched and moved her flag.  Very cool.  I thought I recorded it but I didn't.  I need to work on that.  Very sad.  But I got some pictures.
One of the cool things about living in Wenatchee WA is they love to see Soldiers.  Because Wenatchee is not by a base there are not a lot of Soldiers here.  So many people stopped to say thanks to Jeremy, and classes lined up to shake his  hand.  What a special "Moment."

Our Hero!!!
Happy Veteren's Day Jeremy!  We love you.

The kids ready to go Trunk-or-Treating

Awee we are so cute in our Army shirts.
Chandler wanted to be Thor. Why? because of the Hammer. Oh boy!
Chandler looks so big here.  Wow!
Brooklyn Wanted to be "Poison Ivy" I wasn't even sure who Poision Ivy was.
So I googled it.  For those of you who do not know.  She is a Batman Villain.
I had to find a green outfit and I had to sew over 50 leaves onto her costume.
Doing Brooklyn's make-up was fun.  I took a couple tutorial online and this is what it looked like.
Kayden, Wanted to be a Hobo.  This was an easy costume
and look, he makes a super cute Hobo.  Love it!
I did Kayden's make-up for his School Halloween Party.
But for the trunk or treat he did his own.  Very Cool!
Brooklyn and her Friends,
Jessica,Brooklyn, Kyia, and Carlyn
Here is the group of kids Kayden and Chandler hung out with.

Happy 12th B-day Kayden

This year for Kayden's 12th Birthday he got to go on a Weekend adventure to Salt Lake City, Utah with his Dad and some other friends from the ward. Jer didn't take a camera so no pictures. :-( They left Thursday night drove to ID. Then got up early Friday morning and went to Provo for a BYU Football game. Kayden loved it. He almost lost his voice from all the yelling he did. It was a very close game. BYU Won. Kayden was so excited he called me after the game while everyone was still cheering to tell me a play by play of the game. Awesome! Jeremy got Kayden a BYU t-shirt and of course a BYU football. Then on Sat they were able to attend General Conference at Temple Square. Sat night they went to the Conference Center to watch the Priesthood session. Kayden has some great stories from this event. His favorite part was when the Prophet, Thomas S.Monsen, came out and was in awe that every single seat was filled with men. Kayden's testimony definitely grew from this experience. And how cool to have his Dad all to himself for some much needed bonding time. What a great present. They came home Sunday Night.
Kayden Requested Breakfast in bed for his Birthday.
He wanted his Dad to make biscuits and gravy. Yummy!
Here is Kayden opening some of his gifts. I love
his facial expressions. Too funny!
Aweee, see I can keep a secret! Out of all of Kayden's
present the one he loved the most was his laser
pointer. Now I got this pointer at the pet store; it's for cats.
But Kayden Loves it and takes it everywhere.
Another present Kayden wanted on his Birthday was to receive the
Priesthood. So we talked with the Bishop and set up a time on Sat for
Kayden to recive the priesthood and be ordained to the office of a Deacon.
Here he is after his ordination. What a handsome boy! Kayden also worked
very hard and recieved his Faith in God Sunday Oct 23rd. Way to go buddy!!
