Romer-Express Tours

One thing I absolutely love about Germany is how Family friendly they are.
You can buy Family tickets everywhere you go.  Most family tickets are 2 adults and 3 kids.  I love it.  We only paid 22 Euro for the entire family to ride the train.  It's awesome!
Thank You Germany for making it easy and affordable  to explore.  

We took a 35 minute tour on Romer-Express Tours.  The train took us to

all the main  attractions in Trier the Oldest City in Germany. The tour started at Porter Nigra (Black Gate), Roter Turm, (Red Tower), Liebfrauenkirche (Church of our Lady), Dom (Cathedral), Kurfursliches (electoral Palace.) Roemische Palastual (Imperial Throne Room.), Landesmuseum (Archeological Museum) Kaiserthermen (Imperal Baths), plaster Synagoge, Rathaus Trier city hall, Karl Marx House,and ended Back at the Porter Nigra. I didn't get pictures of all of these places because we were on the Train and it didn't stop.  Sad :-( Next time I will pay for a city bus that we can hop off and on.  We will for sure be coming back to Trier.

Porta Nigra (Black Gate)

This is the oldest defense structure in Germany. This gate is about 1,800 years old.  Wow!
 The Roman City Gate, was given it's name in the Middle ages as Porta Nigra because

of the gates color. The gate is 118 feet long, 70.5 feet wide and 90 feet high. The Sandstone blocks are

held together only by iron rods. The Two gate ways enter a little courtyard. In the 12 century the Porta Nigra housed the church of St. Simeon. The Church was operational until the early 18th Century  

We walked up a lot of stairs.  I don't know how many but it was a lot.
with each new level we got to explore new things.  This gate is ginormous.
So much to see and so much History.
