Fall= leaves and some fun times!!!

The kids were off school this last week.  We had Parent teacher conferences October 31st.  All the kids are doing exceptionally well. My kids are so awesome.  I love it when my kids are out of school, it's fun to stay up late and sleep in.  Even if we are all up by 8:00am  It's not 6:00am.  I do wish my kids would catch the "Sleep in Bug" but alas we will have to stick with 7:30-8:00am. Today I thought it would be fun to go to Smallwoods.  We love this little farm.  The trees were so beautiful.  Fall really is one of my favorite times of year.

Here the kids are having fun with the leaves.  Love it!

Two of my favorite people in the World.

We actually took this picture for Daddy!!! We miss him and can't wait for him to come home.

Kayden, is another one of my hero's.  He really is one awesome young man.  He has been such a big help with this move.  He has helped me non stop and hasn't complained at all.  It's really been a huge help. He says his arms hurt from all the lifting.  and his poor fingers.  But I couldn't have moved half the stuff I did without his help.  Thanks Kayden!

We love playing in the leaves!!!

What started as and "Innocent" Throw the leaves up into the air to get a cute picture... Turned into a huge leave throwing party.
These leaves were wet, Very wet.  Kayden grabbed a handful of Leaves and threw them at me. It just so happend it was Leaves and MUD.  I was covered in MUD!!!  It was so funny!!!  The nice lady taking our picture captured some cute pictures.  All of these were taken on my iphone.  I didn't have my real camera.  Bummer!!!!

Loaded and ready to go...

Ummm I'm not sure this is fair.  Three against one MOM???  What do you think?
After the whole leaf fight we headed to enjoy the rest of the Farm.  Here are my cute, adorable, innocent, children.
We got to feed the Animals. Chandler was a little nervous.  He said, "Mom, they are going to eat my fingers." Ha Ha Ha. However, after a couple handful of feed, Chandler really got into feeding them and fed them two bags. Sweet!

Brooklyn, loves loves animals.  She was in heaven.  She went through 2 bags of feed.

Brooklyn, not only fed the animals but she had to pet and talk to each one.

Cute little peanut!!  I could just eat him up.

Kayden enjoyed feeding the animals.  But he couldn't wait to go back to the maze.  That's another thing that is so great about Smallwoods.  They have something for everyone.  Even a store for ME.  Yeah!

I'm sad I missed this action.  One of the Animals were so excited they took a bite out of the bag.  How funny!!! Fun Times and great memories.

Trunk-Or-Treat

Brooklyn, is a "Pearl Dragon", Kayden is a "Woopie Cushion, and Chandler is"BatMan"
Kayden told Chandler to sit on him.  Look the Woopie Cushion is getting squished. And Brooklyn is about to attack them both.  Lots of funny noises tonight. I heart my kids.

We are ready to go to the Trunk-Or-Treating.

I found this costume earlier in the year at Good Will.  I paid $3.00 for it.  I was so excited to come home and show Kayden.  He loved it, I loved it.  And best of all it totally says KAYDEN!

Kayden, loves anything to do with farts so this costume is perfect for him.

Kayden, and his loot.

Our beautiful "Pearl Dragon".  Does this costume look familiar?  This was the costume Brooklyn wore for her School Music program.  She loved it so much she asked Mrs. Haven is she could wear it for Halloween.  Sweet this costume was FREE!!!!

Brooklyn, has some serious moves, and facial expressions.

Brooklyn, pretty much stayed in character all night.  She is so cute.  Here she is with her loot.

This picture cracks me up.  Chandler was trying to be just like "BatMan" apparently BatMan does NOT smile.  (I didn't know that.) This costume was full price Boo.  But Chandler loves it sooo much. Not that you can tell in his pictures. He looks MAD to me.  But he is Super Cute.
Again, no smile.  Chandler was showing off his ABS.  He loves the muscles. He wanted to sleep with it and never take it off.  UMMM yeah that is not going to work.  Especially if you can never smile wearing it. LOL

Finally I got a smile... Alas it has candy in it.  Oh well.  My cute Chandler and his Loot.

Carving pumpkins with Dad

This was the night before Jeremy left for SLC. He has to go back to Georgia for a 6 week course because he is now an E-7 aka Sargent first class. We thought it would be fun to carve pumpkins before he left.
I'm so glad Jer was here for this.  I'm not sure I could have cut the tops off of these pumpkins.

Brooklyn (that is Greyson) gutting her pumpkin.

Brooklyn said, "It's so slimy". Indeed it is Baby Girl!

I love Chandler's face.  It says it all.

Chandler trying to be all excited about touching the inside of his pumpkin.

Kayden, didn't want to use his hands.  So here he is trying the spoon method.

My handsome boys cleaning out their pumpkins.

I love my kids!!!

I love this picture of Jeremy and Kayden.

Here is Kayden's picture with the seeds.  It's funny how he is the only one that did not use his hands.  Smart? umm I'm not so sure.  His pumpkin didn't get as clean as the others.  There is just something about cleaning your pumpkin with your HANDS.  It may be gross but it works...
Brooklyn, is hard at work carving her pumpkin.

Kayden, wanted to try a new way of carving his pumpkin.  He first took a stencil and a marker and traced his pattern.

Then he started cutting his pumpkin.

Daddy helping Chandler.

This is hard work.  Jeremy's upper body is pushing this knife though the pumpkin.

Chandler's cute "Spider" pumpkin.

Brooklyn's cute "Bat Boo" Pumpkin.

Kayden's "Skull" pumpkin.  Sweet!!!  Good Job everyone!!!

Whole Foods Update

Going Whole foods is hard work. It’s worth it.But it is indeed hard work.

Our philosophy is: make it from scratch, Try to make it whole grains, try to cut the sugar in half, use quality ingredients, eat less, and try new things.

So after I (Tina) went crazy and cut out all the sugar and white flour, and everything processed in our house...

Huston we have a Problem.
1. Everything tasted like Honey, and/or Coconut oil.  So that was not going to work.  Things we enjoyed like Onions, bell peppers, and eggs tasted like Coconut oil. I made homemade Strawberry Jam and it tasted like Honey.  Boo.

2.  I was spending days in the kitchen making and preparing our food.  (This is good and bad.) Good because I knew my family was eating very healthy and everything from scratch.

3. Bad because I was getting burned out.  I just got finished making a healthy Breakfast, made and sent a healthy school lunch and I had to start making snacks for the kids and dinner.  I even tried to stock my freezer trying to ease some of the time I spent cooking EVERYTHING from scratch that just made my day longer.  But it did give me a break on days I didn’t want to cook.

4.We all drink 16oz of Green Smoothie Every Day.

5. I continue to educate myself reading books, articles, and blogs regarding our new lifestyle.
Changes:

1. We use light olive oil for our main oil now, instead of Coconut oil. (Good choice)  We still try to use Coconut oil in all our baked goods.  I actually love the taste of coconut oil in our baked goods.  Jeremy makes a Kettle corn with Coconut oil that is so YUMMY!!!
2. We did add a little sugar back into our diet.  (Not a lot but some.)

3. We have “Meatless” meals twice a week.   This has been kind of fun.  We have never done this before so It’s fun trying some new meals.  So far everything we have tried has been delicious.
4. We eat Seafood twice a week. Brooklyn and Tina are still struggling with these nights.  But it’s a work in progress.
5. I (Tina) have taken some short cuts in the kitchen (to avoid burn out).  I buy good quality bread, tortillas, and pasta’s.  This helps ease some of the burden of making EVERYTHING from scratch.

6. I continue to make and freeze food so I can have the night off.
7. We are still trying to figure out “ORGANIC  food” Jeremy and I believe- Just because it says organic does not mean it is Healthy  or Healthier for you.  You can buy an “Organic Twinkie”. We think it’s better to stay away from highly processed food.  That included “ORGANIC” Processed Food.

 8. However, We do try to buy Non GMO Foods, and still trying to stick with the 5 ingredient rule.

 9. Sometimes you have to use white flour.  Sorry, some things just do not work with Whole Wheat.

10.  It's okay to have a special day every now and then (Eat something you don't normally Eat.)  The kids really love these days.

Our Baby Girl just turned "10"

I love all of these bright colors for Brooklyn.

Here is the Birthday table.  Traditions are fun.

Jeremy and I created a Balloon avalanche. (Thanks to Pintrest)  Jeremy cut and taped the kitchen bags to the door frame. We filled over 50 Balloons with air. (Thanks to our Rainbow) After we made the avalanche I got really  nervous.  Brooklyn gets scared really easy. I was nervous she would wake up, open her door, and be hit with 50 balloons. That may not be the best way to start her "Happy Day" So I second guess my pintrests brilliant idea.  However, when Brooklyn woke up and opened her door she was so happy she laughed and just loved all the balloons.  Yeah!! it was a huge hit.  She spent the rest of the day talking about her Balloon Avalanche.

Here is our beautiful, brilliant, amazing birthday girl Brooklyn. She wanted  Green smoothies with little German Pancakes, homemade berry sauce and whipped cream.  It was very yummy!!!

I just love this picture.  I think we look alike.  What do you think?

Jeremy had the day off so he got to come and help handout treats.  Brooklyn, was soooo excited.

Brooklyn, wanted to make "Eyeball" cake pops.  They turned out so cute.  She wanted red velvet cake. We could only used M&M's that resembled "real" eye colors.  These cake pops were really awesome.  When you bit into them they were all red and creepy.  They were a huge hit.
One eyed Brooklyn.

Brooklyn, sharing her treats with her class.
I love this picture of our "Baby Girl"

This was Kayden's gift to Brooklyn,  I have to say I am really impressed Kayden found this gift without any help from Brooklyn or me.  He remembered that Brooklyn loved Orbeez.  He used his own hard earned money and Brooklyn loved it.  Way to go Kayden.  It make me so happy sometimes these two do NOT get along. So to see Kayden work so hard to make Brooklyn happy, is just cool.

I love Brooklyn's face.  I don't think you could wipe that grin off her face.

A camera, Brooklyn got a Camera.  Like mother like Daughter.  I think we are going to see some great photos in our future.
For Dinner Brooklyn wanted Crepes.  We had meat ones, and dessert ones.  YUMMY!!!!

Daddy, helping Brooklyn set her camera up. Very fun!!!

Say Cheese!!!
