Halloween Dinner

 

Grandma Smith thanks for the fun Halloween goody book. I made these yummy witches hats for the kids for after school snack. They were so much fun. they kids loved eating them...

I pulled a couple recipes for the Halloween book my mom sent. We tried a new soup tonight it was called Pumpkin Chili. I made homemade bread bowls. I have never made them before and they turned out amazing. They were so yummy!!! The soup on the other hand. I am not sure pumpkin should be a soup. WE love pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread, chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. But we are not so sure we like pumpkin in our soup. Giggles.

 

Here are the Carmel apples I made they were so yummy!!!! Chandler was so funny he didn't know how to eat the Carmel apple. Poor Kayden couldn't eat the apple on the stick. I had to cut it up for him because he has no front teeth. LOL Santa please bring Kayden his two front teeth. Brooklyn kept saying this is the best treat ever. LOL We had a wonderful Halloween Dinner.

Trick-or-Treating

I decided to let the kids go Trick-or-Treating this year. I am not a huge fan of my kids getting candy from strangers. There is some scary candy out there. I have even taken my kids candy to the hospital to be x-rayed. I know I am crazy!! I'm okay with that... Usually we have a wonderful homemade dinner and do our own Trick-or-Treating with yummy candy not the yucky stuff people hand out. We have a couple friends that live on our street so we went to their houses. When the kids got home they took turns handing out candy. They love to do that... When the candy was gone, we came inside and got ready for bed snuggled on the couch and watched The Haunted Mansion. Oh my that movie was a little scary. I have never seen it before,I jumped three times. It was a perfect movie for Halloween. Okay I laughed too!!!! It was funny the kids started off on their own couch before the movie was over all five of us were on the small couch. LOL we are a bunch of scary cats. Heaven help us if we ever watch a really scary movie. LOL

Carving Pumpkins

 

 

 

 

Tonight for Family Home Evening. We had the Harrison family over for dinner and pumpkin carving. WE had yummy corn chowder, homemade rolls, Chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. Our pumpkins turned out amazing this year. We had so much fun. I'm so glad chandler was into it this year. Last year the only pictures I have of Chandler was him eating a chocolate chip Pumpkin cookie. LOL!!! The boys had fun pulling out all the owee gooy inside. Chanlder would touch it and fling it all over my kitchen. Yeah super fun. The Harrison Girls were so clean. (Not much clean up with an adult and an almost 11 yr old) I think Rachel planed that. Hey all the messy kids go with Tina. I will sit here with my 11 yr old. LOL Hummm Maybe I need to learn from her. Giggles. We tired to make pumpkin seeds. Note to self You need to watch the seeds. Seeds will burn if you forget about them and continue carving your pumpkin. Oh my we burned those seeds. SAD :( I have never made pumpkin seeds. Maybe we will get another pumpkin just so we can make seeds.
We got some cool pics of the pumpkin and our families. I love this time of year with pumpkin in the air.And all over my kitchen. Giggles.

Trunk or Treat

 

 

 

 

Our Ward had a fun Trunk or Treat. The ward had a competition for the best decorated trunk. Our trunk won a movie gift certificate for "The Most Creative" How cool is that? Jeremy did a wonderful job decoration our trunk. I was able to hand out candy this year. It's so fun to see all the kids in their coustumes.
Before the trunck or treat the ward had a fall festival. The kids had dognuts on a string, participated in a cake walk, went through a haunted box, and threw bean bags in a pumpkin. We all had a wonderful time with all our freinds in the Grovetown ward. We have the best ward ever!!!!

Halloween at Fort Discovery

 

 

 

We went to Ft. Discovery with the Pynes. We had so much fun getting dressed up in our Halloween coustumes. Kayden is "Captain Rex" (from the clone wars) Brooklyn is a "Witch" and Chandler is "Diego" (Chandler didn't want to dress up again. Same problem as last year only this year we didn't spend $30.00 on a coustume he wouldn't wear. We got him Diego pjs and his diego back pack.) Chandler doesn't have to wear a Coustume and mom gets some cute pictures. A win win situations for sure.

Happy Birthday Brooklyn & Kayden

The Airport Off to Utah

We made it to the airport. We left the house at 1:30am. We got to Atlanta at about 3:30am We went to the park n fly pluse to store our car. It was so easy. They little bus came to our car picked us up. The attandant put all the suitcases in the bus and we headed to the Airport. Got to the Airport at about 4am. The kids are all awake and super excited to be leaving. Chandler kept waving and telling everyone bye. How cute is that?

Look at all those suitcases. When your a family of five you need some suitcases. We made it without having to pay any over the weight limits. Made it through security without any problems. and onto our plane. Whew we are on our way to Utah!
Does Chandler ever pose for the picture. NO NEVER!! We are ready to go and see Grandma and Grandpa Smith, Bastian and all our cousins. Aunts and Uncles Shana & James wedding not to mention have a wonderful Birthday party and hang out with some Old Wonder Friends.
Okay Mom can not sit with everyone. Someone has to sit with Dad. Grandma B I have captured a lot of chandler's little hand gestures. Too cute. I can't believe I have never noticed them before. They are super cute. I need to capture one with both hands and feet going just for you.
Here we are in the Airplane ready to take off. I love the rule if you have young children you get to board the plane first. We were the very first on all four flights. Yeah!!! Some cool things that happened on our flights. The first flights we had a wonderful flight attendant. He performed a magic show for the kids. Yeah super cool. He did a trick with his napkin and then some sugar, It was really neat. The kids loved it. When we landed in Denver the Kids were invited into the cockpit to meet the captain and his 1st officer. They even let the kids play with some of the buttons. Chandler was in heaven. When we came home it was Brooklyn's 6Th Birthday and after they got finished with the safety briefing they wished Brooklyn a Happy Birthday. Brooklyn was like Mom how did they know it was my Birthday. Can anyone guess? yep that is right I told them. They did that on both flights. She also scored some free candy from our flight attendant Brooklyn felt so special! Brooklyn you are special and it's your special day even if we had to spend 14 hours traveling. UUUUGGGHHH
Brooklyn was sooo grumpy. She was throwing a fit I thought it was funny so I got my camera to take a picture and she posed a happy face while Daddy kept the Grumpy theme. I love it. (Why didn't I get my camera earlier?)

My friend Jaime Child from Hawaii met us at the Airport. We were able to go and see her new house and her store. She and her in-laws started a new store called "Cops Closet." It's amazing. She has worked really hard. Her husband Ezra (who use to be in the Army) is now a Centerville cop and Jaime runs the family business. They have five wonderful boys. Jaimie is holding David her second to youngest boy. Matthew (Matt) is her 2nd to oldest boy. Matthew and Kayden have been friends since they were four. They hit it off just like old times. The next two pics are when they hooked up. They are so cool!
