Highline 179

This was the culminating event for our "Dauntless Day".
The Guinness World Record recorded this as the Longest Tibet-Style foot bridge.  It is suspended between the historic Fort Claudia and Ehrenberg Fortifications.
The Height of the bridge is 114,60 meters
Length of the Bridge 406 Meters
Pad width 1.2 Meters
Bridge supported by 4 cables, each 60 mm diameter.
Chandler was the first one on the bridge.  He is SOOOO Brave.
Courageous Brooklyn.
Brooklyn challenged all of us to cross the bridge without touching the sides.  Oh my goodness.  It was a ride. The Bridge sways and shakes.  Especially when other people are coming from the opposite direction.  It was crazy.  We all made it across the bridge without touching.  I did have to stop a couple times to catch my balance.  And I learned if I stopped when people passed me and made the bridge shake and sway more that I could move more freely and not feel the swaying as much.
Here we are on the Suspension bridge.  It is kind of freaky!!! It shakes and sways. EEEKKKK
This is what we walked on,  CRAZY!!!
My heart gets pumping again just looking at these pictures.
Jermey, had the camera and loved taking pictures of all the little cars below us.
I didn't want to stop and look at all the cars passing by.  Ha!
You can see the Suspention bridge to the left and Ehrenberg Castle to the right and Bastianclan right in the middle.
The views from this platform were beautiful!!!!
Love this picture of Beautiful, courageous, Brooklyn with the Fortress behind her.
Chandler is so awesome.  I love his BIG personality and his Bravery.
Can you see the Austria Alps? So pretty.  What a beautiful Day to explore Austria!
The Views from the platform were beautiful.
Love this picture of the Ehrenberg Castle
Jeremy and his kids.  With the Suspension bridge in the background.
Oh here we go again... Walking back to the other side...  Brooklyn, said no hands.
Oh boy.  Hopefully not a lot of people are on the bridge.
My sweet Chandler found a pretty Purple flower.  He picked it and put it in my hair.
Awe, I love this sweet boy of mine.
We are standing under the Suspension Bridge.
WE DID IT!!  We crossed the Bridge and back without touching the sides...
I don't think I ever need to do it again. Ha!  Well unless Kayden wants to do it.

Ehrenberg Castle

Today we traveled to Reutte Austria to visit a 700 year old Fortress and continue
our "Dauntless" Day by walking across the longest suspension bridge in the world.
Chandler and Brooklyn are ready to go back in time...
We had a 30 minute hike up to the Fortress.  It was a very steep hill just when you think it can't get any steeper you would go around a switchback and up another steep hill. We got plenty of steps and flights today.  Ha!   All along the path their were little stories we got to read that added to the adventure and mystery of the Castle.
A beautiful Sunny day. Which is rare in Germany.
It has been so gloomy and rainy it was so nice to see blue skies and the SUN.
Look at the view from the top of the mountain.
This right here is why we hiked up that steep hill.
Here is Ehrenberg Castle a remarkable Fortress.  It's 700 years old.
We really did get to go back in time.  We got to explore every corner of this beautiful castle ruins.  This fortress provided protection and security from any invaders.  Because of the location of the castle hight on a mountain top, fresh drinking water and food, logistically, were hard to come by. The castle had it's own bakery and several cisterns.  I would have hated to be one of the twelve people living at this castle and having to walk up and down the mountain.

This is a beautiful picture of the Suspension bridge. After we finish exploring the castle we will be walking across this bridge.  EEEKKK  Check out the next blog post for that adventure.
Our super cute Brooklyn and Chandler having so much fun "Storming the Castle."

The castle rose a huge 150 meters about the valley ground. 1100 meters above sea level.
This was our view from the top of the Castle.

Another great picture of the Suspension bridge we are about to cross.
Ehrenberg in all it's glory.  Beautiful Castle.

Love this picture with my sweet girl with the beautiful Austria in the back ground.
Chandler, loved exploring this castle.
I love going back in time and trying to imagine what life was like when the castle was built.
Chandler, was too cool to take the paved path.  He wanted to go down the hill.

Alpine Slide

Brooklyn likes to call today our "Dauntless" day.  We were so daring all day.
We started the day off with our very first Alpine slide.  We actually got to try two different tracks.  The first one was in Oberamnergau and the second one was in Garmish.  We loved the one in Oberamnergau the best!
Chandler and Brooklyn so excited to ride the Alpine Slide.
Sandwich kiss for MOM.
I sure do love them!
Tina coming to the finish line.  I survived!
Chandler did awesome! He drove that sled like a BOSS!
Brooklyn just kept saying... "Lets do it again."
I think it's safe to say she LOVED it and she conquered her fear.
Way to go BABY GIRL!
Jeremy was pretty much in heaven.  I think he too could have spent all day riding the Alpine Coaster.
Jeremy with his Kids ready to ride the Alpine Coaster.
We got to ride the lift up to the top of the hill.
What a beautiful couple on a beautiful day!
We got to see some breathtaking views. Look at the blue blue skies.
Some more breathtaking views.
Up, UP, away they go! It took us about ten minutes to ride to the gondola to the top.
We got to see the track on our way up. The alpine slide was 8530 ft long!
Chandler was just excited and couldn't wait to start. He got to drive his own car.  Awesome!
Brooklyn is ready to rumble...
She was a little nervous but was conquering her fear and she rocked it.
Jermey is ready to go!!!!  Ride like the Wind...
This is going to be a fun adventure.  I too am a little nervous.
