Family Retreat Tacoma WA

So this years Family Retreat was held at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma WA.  We have never been to Tacoma.  So It was a super fun adventure.  I love that we get to spend the entire weekend together.  However, Kayden missed this year due to a schedule conflict.  Kayden had a 2 night Scout trip, he helped plan and wanted to attend.  So this is the first of many I'm sure that we went our separate ways.   Brooklyn and Chandler enjoyed being spoiled. Going to a candy store, playing at the Mall, going to the Movies, and Going to eat at some really cool  restaurants.  One night we ate at the Varsity Grill.  We were put in their Theater Room.  How fun is that?  We got to eat dinner in stadium seating and watch a show.  Very cool! We had a lot of fun this weekend.
We tried to go to the Children's Museum a couple times.  The first time it was closing in 10 minutes. The second time the museum was filled to capacity and we couldn't go in.  Sad. Maybe next time we will be able to go.  It looked really fun.

Brave came out in theaters so we thought it would be fun to take the kids.  They both loved the movie.  It was so funny.  I was surprised at how many scary parts it had.  I jumped a couple time.  But remember I am a wimp.  Over all the kids gave the movie a 9 1/2 out of 10. AWESOME!

We took the kids to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.  We have never been to a destination that had both so we had to check it out.  It really was very cool.  Smaller then I expected but totally worth the trip.

Our cute kiddos.  See they had a great weekend.
Jaws has nothing on these sharks.

Chandler especially loved the sharks.  They were very active while we were there.

I love this picture.  These fish remind us of Hawaii.  We kind of miss that place.  KIND OF...

Jer and I were there too!

This Hawk was totally flirting with us.  So interactive.

These otters were funny.  They were full of character.  It was fun to watch them

This Monkey totally performed for us.

Beautiful Red Wolf.  This Zoo was the first breading zoo for the Red Wolf. They just has a litter of 5 pups.

We didn't get to see the pups but it was fun to watch the parents interact. And to watch them eat.

These baby leopards were out playing.  So fun to see them up close.

Bike for Shoes

The Bastian's have been training to run a 5K together.  We have been training for about 6 weeks. I had a huge Reactive Arthritis flare up and Dr.Bryd my Rheumatoid Doctor told me I was not allowed to run any more.  I was heart broken.
We had to find something else to do together that would not hurt my joints.  We decided we would all get bikes and go on bike rides.  What a great idea we have had so much fun together as a family.  and best of all we can do it together and it will not hurt my joints.  Yeah!
Last Saturday we signed up to ride in the "Bike for Shoes Charity" Each child pays an entrance fee of $15.00 All proceeds go to support a local community outreach whereby underprivileged children of the Wenatchee Valley are given a new pair of shoes.  How cool is that?   It wasn't a race but it was a fun family activity and we were able to help 3 kids get 3 new pairs of shoes.  Very cool.   They had a safety inspection before we took off on our adventure.  They had 5 stops along the 10+ mile trail filled with goodies.  The first stop was the "Beach", they gave us Popsicle, and goldfish. The second stop was the "Arctic", they had frozen gogurts, the third stop was The "desert" they had bagels and cream cheese, The fourth stop was the "Rain forest".  They had animal crackers and M&M's. The final stop was the "Farm" where they had the best apples.  YUMMY. I love Wenatchee apples they are so crisp, sweet and juicy.  We all crossed the finished line and all got a medallion.  Awesome Job everyone!!!!

Memorial Day With Casey and his family

We are so excited Casey and his family moved to Moses Lake.  Over Memorial Day weekend Jeremy had a 4 day weekend.  We thought it would be fun to camp in our back yard just like we did last year.   We invited Casey and his family to join us.  Casey was off for the weekend too.  They were going to come down on Friday.  So we got all ready made lots of yummness. Breakfast hot pockets, Homemade cinnamon rolls, Pizza, Tacos, fruit salad, Beef Roast, potatoes, wind pudding, green salad and  Rollo cookies. YUMMY.  Only one problem poor Adrian was so sick and was tossing his cookies so they couldn't come down on Friday.  So Saturday afternoon when everyone was feeling better they joined us.  We went shopping and played lots of games. Unfortunately our weekend was cut super short.  Noah got sick and was tossing his cookies followed by Merlin, Elizabeth, and Casey.  So sad...  Kayden, and Chandler caught the bug a couple days later.  Poor kiddos.  But we had fun and made lots of Memories.
The boys love playing Yu-gi-uh. Merlin, Adrian, and Noah each have their own decks.
And they dueled for hours.  So much fun!

Keiko, Casey's dog was loved on a lot.  Our kids sure miss their dogs.

Casey singing with Guitar Hero.  I think he got the best scores of the night.

I love love love Guitar Hero.  It's fun that we all get to play, or sing.

Johnathan's turn singing.  He sang ABC is easy as 123.  So cute!

Here I am teaching Elizabeth how to play Guitar Hero.

This picture is so funny.  Casey, Merlin, and Adrian singing at the top of their lungs.

Poor Noah wasn't feeling too hot.
