Fun in Utah

I think it's about time I updated my blog. We are having so much fun in Utah, I am not sure we will come home. LOL We are being spoiled with all our family. It's so nice to have everyone ooohhh and aweeee over you. Okay I am going to sum up our activities. Yes, this is going to be a long long post. With way too many pictures. Would you expect anything else?
Flying to Utah was a nightmare. NO, not the kids the flights. We got up at 5am to drive to Atlanta so we could catch our flight it turned out that our flight from chicago to SLC had been cancelled. Yeah, Crazy. They tried to find another flight they booked us on a Delta flight we only had to wait 2 hours. Right on. When we got to Chicago we took a 45 min walk from United terminal to the Delta terminal. When we got to the Delta terminal they would not let us on because they did not have our luggage. It didn't matter my luggage tags said SLC. They made me go back to the United terminal and fix the problem. Well the United airline couldn't move our luggage fast enough to make the flight. So they booked us on another flight that left chicago at 6pm. I was like are you kidding? what on earth am I suppose to do in an airport with three kids for hours. I was so mad. United told me they had a flight that left at 5pm but we would be flying standby and the flight was going to Denver we would have another 4 hour layover. I was like are you kidding? NO thanks. So I took the Delta flight that left at 6pm. United sent us on our way with $40 in food vouchers.

When we checked in the Delta ticket counter they told me there was no 6pm flight to SLC. I was like how can that be I have some tickets right here. They said it was cancelled. Are you serious? I was about in tears at this point. What a nightmare. I was thinking I was going to have to stay in chicago and try and fly out the next day. Delta told me they had a flight that was leaving at 4pm. We would have to fly standby. I was like okay we will take our chances. So off we went through security. I let the kids choose where they wanted to eat lunch. We ate and waited our 3 hours. We checked in at the Delta desk and they asked again you want 4 seats? I said yes. they said is it okay if they are not all together? I said well they are my kids. 9,6,and4. They told me oh they can't ride without you. I was like okay. He said that they were not sure they could get the seats together. WEll lots of prayers and faith later my name was called. All my kids had different seats. Even Chandler. But when we got on the plane people were so nice to move (nice or didn't want to sit by my kids. LOL) Kayden was the only one that didn't sit by me. He sat by a return missionary and another guy. Kayden was only one row in front of me. We were so blessed. WE made it to SLC only 3 hours later. Thank Heavens. Lets hope the ride home will be better.
Grandma & Grandpa smith were there to pick us up. We went to dinner then we drove 3 hours. After traveling for 24 hours we finally made it to my parents.

We have been so spoiled being with our grandparens. I have had every evening off.

I went out with Mom Bastian Loriann, and Shana. We went shopping and Mom took us out to Wingers. WE all ate way to much but had a blast doing it.

The next night I went to the temple with Mom & Dad Bastian. We drove a whole 3 minutes to the temple. Wow it was wonderful. I've been able to go a couple times. Love the temple so close.

Saturday Loirann had her bridal shower I was so excited I was able to attend. Lots and lots of memeories. We had so much fun.
Jery came into town on tue and we headed for Lake Tahoe. It was so fun to have Grandma and Grandpa Bastian we threw all the kids in their car and went on our way.

I got to spend some extra time with Aunt Ann. We had so much fun talking and bonding.

The day of the wedding we got to take a beautiful drive to a cove and see waterfalls and spend more time with the Bastian's.

We had a blast at Loirann's wedding bash. Lake Tahoe is so beautiful. Jason and Loriann's wedding was beautiful. We had a lot of laughs. We got some super cute pictures. I will tell a little bit more when the pictures come.

Thanks to Loriann and Jason for such a fun beautiful wedding. we are so excited for them.

I am going to update my blog again soon with some more adventures. We have many more.

So keep watching. Enjoy the pictures.

Summer Time

We love "Summer" I'm a little behind in my blogging because we have been so busy. I love having the kids home. We already started our summer program at the Bastian home. The kids do about 1 hour of school work a day. They have to write in a journal every day, they read out loud to me. (this is my favorite part.)Brooklyn is reading Junie B Jones. She just finished reading Junie B Jones "Graduates Kindergarten". She is now reading June B Jones, "First Grade, at last." Kayden is reading "The Lightning Thief". This book is hilarious. So funny!!! I have workbooks for all my kids. They do a couple work sheets a day. We also have fun in the kitchen where the kids help make something fun to play with or eat. We made home made play dough one of the kids favorites and we attempted to make clay that you can dry and paint. Yeah this project didn't work out so well. WE will attempt it again this week. WE have had so much fun playing in the sun, water, and eating snow cones. To kick the summer off we had a party at our house over Memorial. We had several families over and had a yummy BBQ and a camp fire.
We always have so much fun with our friends. We sure love them all. It's nice to have good friends when you can't be with your family. :)
Jared (one of our good friends) joined our family for a day of bowling and the movies. UMMM I don't think Jared is allowed to go bowling with us again. yeah he creamed us. I think he scored a 145. yeah I was like 85 and Jeremy was 104. Good Job Jared. After we bowled we went to see Night at the Museum 2. We loved it so funny. Highly recommend it if you are looking for an awesome movie. WE can't wait to start our 7 week vacation in UTAH!!!! More to come...

Thunder over Augusta/ Armed Force Day

What a fun day at the Armed Force day. The day started off with a C-130 Hercules Flyover(Huge aircraft with a wing span of over 160 ft.) The kids got to play on all kinds of Military vehicles. Battle tankers, M3A2 transports infantry, and some Hummers. The kids got to touch and see lots of different weapons. It was so neat. Very informative. It's nice to see what Dad does when he's deployed. They had several booth with lots of free things for the kids. We got to watch the Military police dogs at work. Wow these dogs have quit the grip. The kids got to do some Military combative. Super fun! They got to play on a couple inflatable activities. That night we got to watch the Golden Knight US Army Parachute. We got to listen to the Signal Band. (Our friend Erik plays the trumpet) We met up with our friends the Hardman's. It was fun to hang out with them. What Bastianclan adventure would be complete without a little RAIN. Yeah it rained for about 10-15 minutes. Not a lot of rain just enough to get things wet. Of course all the Kids were out playing in the rain. Kayden, his friend Isaiah and Samuel (Isaiah's older brother) were all out playing "Foot Ball" in the rain. One things for sure the rain doesn't stop us. The highlight of the evening was the 30 minute firework show. It was amazing. So beautiful. What a fun day and night celebrating our Military.

Chandler is doing his push ups and sit ups to get a basket ball.

Kayden and Isaiah doing their own Military combative.

Who wants to fight Chandler? That face would scare anyone away.

Brooklyn found a perfect seat up in a tree.

Here are the US Army Parachutes.

They had a red "X" they all landed on or by.

Foot ball in the rain.

Marine Mud Challenge

We had so much fun at the Marine Mud Challenge. We were going to let Kayden compete with his Friend Isaiah but we got our times wrong and we missed it by 10 minutes. Darn it! But we stayed and watched the Adults race. It was Awesome. We all got to run 1/4 of the race. We were trying to find the big mud pit. We cheered for a couple teams as they passed us. We even got to stop for some water at the water stop. (the kids thought that was awesome.) We found the huge Mud pit. It was a big pool of water and mud. It was crazy! We watched as team after team went through an obstacle of logs while they were climbing over and under the logs in the mud bath, water and mud was being sprayed at each of them. My kids were directly involved in making the teams lives a little harder. They each got to spray several teams. My kids thought it was awesome. When some of our friends came through, my kids were like We have to get them really good. wow! I have such nice, kind, wonderful kids. LOLHere we are in the race. This is the beginning of the Mud bath.
Here Chandler is helping get everyone wet & muddy.

Here is Brooklyn

Here is Kayden. They even let him do it all by himself.

Wow that hose is powerful!

Swimming in the mud bath.

Here is a team starting the Mud bath.

Chandler's Pre-School Graduation

What a cute Graduate Chandler is walking down the aisle.

What a cute picture. Chandler I love you!
Mrs Rhonda & Mrs Andrea
Pre-School Graduation. They sang a couple song and did their Bible Vs.
Chandler said two Commandments.
Thou Shalt Not Steal, and Honor thy Father and thy Mother
Only Chandler says. Honor thy Father and THE Mother. Giggles
Chandler was very animated during the performance. It was so funny!

Singing "Jesus Loves Me"

Here Chandler is getting his diploma. When they called his name he yelled "YES" Ran to Mrs. Andrea and snatched his Diploma.

He then proceeds to "strut" down the aisle. Oh boy what a character!

We were invited to go to Lunch at Red Robin's with some of our friends from school. The Terry's, The Galan's (Andrew's Mom), and The Richard's. What a fun day filled with Graduation and Lunch with our friends.
