Oliver

We all had a great time being in the Camp Humphreys'  Community Theater production of  "Oliver".  It's a good thing we were all in the play because with practices three times a week we spent a lot of time at the theater.  Many nights, we ate dinner together at the Theater.  What a fun experience.  Jeremy was Mr. Sowerberry (Funeral Director, and the Doctor.) Tina was an Orphan worker and Ms. Bedwin (a housekeeper). Kayden was Dodger, Brooklyn was Curly, a Fagin Boy, and Chandler was Captain of the Fagin Boys.

Jeremy had some of the best faces.  Here is Mr. Sowerberry  Thinking about all the lines he needs to remember.  Jeremy had a fun time learning a song and all his lines along with all the demands of the mission he was doing for work and all the hours he spent at work.  He literally went from work to rehersals to bed.  Just to get up and start all over.  Jeremy did a great Job on his song.  I will have to see if I can post some video.

10 Things you should know before doing a play as a family.
1.You have to make dinner at 2 o'clock
2. Your kids will make new friends and get in trouble because they are playing.
3. Your kids will not got to bed on time because  you are still at play practice.
4. Your kids will be singing Songs all day everyday
5. Your kids will consistently quote lines from the play even if it's NOT appropriate.
6.No one sleeps during Tech Week
7.  Four performances are exhausting
8. It's a big cast to make gifts for
9.Putting make up on boys is HILARIOUS!!!
10.Your not sure what to do when the Play is over.

Scripture Study "Personal Revelation"

I have to admit I was super excited About our new topic  "Personal Revelation".   I think we can all use a little more Personal Revelation in our life.  As I was doing some research to get ready to dive into this topic, I came across a couple really great articles.  One by Elder Gerald N. Lund.  He said, "If we want to talk to the Lord we need to get down on our knees. However, if we want the Lord to talk to us we have to open our Scriptures. So often an answer to our question comes from a verse in the scriptures." Watch a little clip on Personal Revelation Here
Studying the scriptures invites revelation, and with that revelation we move forward with "TRUST"

As we finished up our month of studying "Personal Revelation" we asked the kids to reflect on things they have learned and how they can apply them in their daily lives.

Brooklyn said, "To receive revelation  you need to ponder and reflect, you have to go to church and you need to have Faith."

Chandler said, "Feast upon the word. Search the scriptures because when we SEEK we FIND."

Kayden shared a scripture with us Moroni 10:4 You have to ask before you can receive. You  Need to have FAITH.  Personal Revelation is how Heavenly Father Communicates with us.

Thanksgviving with Missionaries

Brooklyn, wanted to stay home from school on Wednesday and help cook. We  had a lot of cooking to do because we plan on feeding about 30 people for Thanksgiving.  We got all our dishes and recipes out so we could be prepared to cook all day.   Brooklyn, said "Wow Mom when you said we would be cooking all day, I didn't  think  we  would be cooking  ALL NIGHT too!"   That's what happens when you have a mother that is all about DETAILS!!!  (or the pies take an hour each to bake.) We had so much fun cooking together and making lots of memories.  I love my Baby Girl.

Brooklyn, made this pie all by herself.  (I made the crust.)  It's a pumpkin Cheesecake Pie. A cream cheese layer on the bottom of the crust and then a regular pumpkin pie in the middle.  it was her idea to cut the turkey out of the pie crust.  She cut and decorated all the leaves.  Brooklyn said," I think I just started a new tradition."  She is indeed her mother's daughter.  I love that she put her own twist on one of my favorite traditions.  Decoration the crust of pies.  So now we not only have the best tasting pies but the cutest as well.  I love Holidays and Traditions.

Jeremy, made this turkey from a  picture his mom sent us on Facebook.   Look how cute it turned out Mom?

Not only did I cook and clean I also helped decorate.  Che made these beautiful center pieces.  It was my job to tie beautiful raffia bows.  They turned out amazing!!!

I had to do a quadruple my batch of rolls.  So I used the biggest pan I had.  Worked like a charm.
  That is a lot of dough for yummy rolls!!!!

We had 24 people come and enjoy Thanksgiving at our house.
 We also gave Thanksgiving Dinner to 6 soldiers that had to work.

The missionaries finally arrived.  There were some issues getting them on post. But we got it all worked out and they are here.  Yeah!!!  The party can begin. 

  I hope they are hungry because we have a lot of food.

Being Silly!

Che and I finally got to sit down and eat Thanksgiving Dinner around 6:30pm. It was a crazy busy day. Lots of cooking driving and arranging needed to happen so all of these wonderful people could have Thanksgiving Dinner.  It was So worth all the work to feed all these awesome people.  The Missionaries were all so happy and so grateful they got to have a  yummy American Thanksgiving. (No we did not have any Kimchi)  The soldiers were so thankful they got to have a little bit of Thanksgiving even if they had to work.  

I really wish I would have taken family and couple pictures.  But we were just too busy making memories and plates we just didn't get to the camera.  Good thing we have lots of other pictures to help keep the memories alive.  Thanks to all the Missionaries who traveled a couple hours to spend thanksgiving with us.  Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
