The Louvre Paris

Our next big adventure was The Louvre.
One of the oldest, largest, and most famous art galleries and museums in the world.
This place was GINORMOUS!  Seriously it was so big.  We were not sure where to start.
We were told that if you took 3 seconds to look at each artifact in the museum it would take you three months to see everything.  So you can imagine our little 2 1/2 hours exploring The Louvre didn't even skim the surface.
The Louvre was previously a Royal Palace.

This is the hallway leading to The Mona Lisa.
You can see all the artwork along the walls and see that the hall is really long.
The Louvre holds some of the world's most famous art.  The first piece we got to see was
Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.  The most famous painting in the world.
Even the floors were full of stunning ART!
The ceilings were full of meticulous murals.
There were so many elegant sculptures throughout the Museum.
Venus de Milo
Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty.
Athena- The Goddess of Wisdom, Courage, Law and Justice.
Zeus-the sky and thunder God in Ancient Greece.
We got to explore the Egyptian Collection.

Egyptian Gods

Egyptian writing.

Egyptian Tomb

Persian Art.  This was one of my favorite exhibits.
I loved the colors and designs they are stunning.
Love love the colors.
This is the top of the column that held up the beams of the roof in the palace of the king of Persia.
It was huge and only the TOP of the column!

Here is the inverted Pyramid inside the Louvre.
Jer and I thought it was awesome!
