Cub Scouts

 The church does not have a Cub Scout program here in Korea, But Good news Camp Humphries Does. However, not during the summer. :-(  So my Friend Janine and I started our own little Den with our boys.  We wanted to have them work on their Wolf so when school started they could both be in Bears with the other boys their age. (Janine and I are going to be the leaders of the Bear Den.)  So our adventure has started in Cub Scouts once more. Here is Chandler and William our Two Wolf Scouts.

We had a mock senerio that William had cut his finger and Chandler had to take the correct steps in treating William's Finger.  William did a great Job pretending he was hurt. Chandler did an awesome job fixing his cut.

Now  the Senerio is switched and Chandler had a cut finger and William did an amazing job fixing it. 

Good as new! The boys did a great job cleaning and bandaging the cut! Here they are with their super cute Angry Bird band aids.  Way to Go Cub Scouts!

We talked about the importance of nutrition and played a couple games with all 5 food groups.  So much fun. We love Cub Scouts.

The boys went to the school and learned how to lead an outdoor  flag ceremony.

They learned  how to fold the U.S Flag.

Participated in an outdoor flag ceremony.  

And finally saluting the flag and saying the "Pledge of Allegiance". Good work boys.
Wednesday really are Chandler favorite day of the week.  He can't wait for Cub Scouts.  It's fun to see him work so hard.  And it's extra fun to do it with your friend.

Look at this cute Cub Scout sign we made.  The center part has a page protector so we can change the upcoming activities and announcements.  Way to go Boys.  It's super cute.

A Mid Summer Night's Dream

For the last 2 weeks the kids have be involved in CYS Summer Theater play of A Mid Summer Night's Dream. They have worked very hard, 4 Hours a day for 10 days.  Plus, I helped with the play so we put in a couple more hours.  What a Blast!!!  We are a little Sad it's over.  Boo!!!  Kayden, Taylor, Josiah and Chandler waiting to get makeup and costumes.

It's always fun to make new friends.  Josh was the Lion in the play and he and Chandler really became good friends over these last two weeks.

I got the kids Roses for after the show.  I had to be really tricky so they wouldn't find out.  They loved their roses.  Janine Mcphee made Twizzler flowers for the kids.  It was so nice of her.  So here the kids are with their flowers.  What an awesome night.

WE had a couple Mom's work very hard at this years camp.  We made them a cute gift to show how much we appriciate all the time they put into this camp.  We can't wait for the next Theater Show.  

Korean Folk Village

Our last tour of  the day The Korean Folk Village.  This place helps us understand traditional Korean life and their culture.

The first set of homes we came too belong to the Poor families.  You can tell because they have the straw roofs.

 

It was very fun to explore how the Korean's use to live and explore more of their culture.

 



Inside the house.  These are the tools they used.

 

The kitchen.  I can't' imagine cooking in here. Wow so small. Several generations shared these homes too.  So Great Grand parents, Grandparents, and Parents.  That is a lot of people in a small home.

 

This is where the wealthy families lived.  You can tell because of the tile roofs.

 

They are much bigger than the poor people homes.

 

They had personal tutors for the kids.

 

Chandler, was learning how to Iron clothes.

 

The wealthy homes has two types of flooring.  Tile and Wood.

 

More tools.  Wow we have come a long way haven't we?

 

The entertainment was awesome.  We sure enjoyed these shows.

 

These young men sure were enjoying themselves.  Look at some of the air on some of them.  Wow!!!

 

This was a different kind of juggling. All he had was this little stick and the disc.  He did some amazing things with this little disc.

This guy was pretty amazing he did several stunts on this tight rope.

He would sit and bounce up to his feet again. It was like this tight rope was his trampoline.

Look how awesome he is.  He even did tricks standing on one foot.  Amazing!

This entire program was in Korean.  It was fun to see SP interpret for the kids.  I think SP need to come on all our family adventures. Ha Ha Ha

Our next stop was the Punishment area.  The kids thought this area was awesome.  They wanted to try out each of the torturing devices.

The next performance was Horse riding.  These guys were holding flowers that the other guy would snap with his whip.  Wow!!!!

Lots of fun at the Korean Folk Village we will for sure be going again.  I cant' wait to explore this place some more.  We only scratched the surface
