Day 2 Anniversary Trip Embarking on MSC Divina

Jeremy had to start the day at the Coop a store he use to frequent on his mission. We saw the biggest slab of meat. I didn’t dare try it. Everyone else ate it. Ha! 

It took a minute to find our parking and a couple u turns. 😂
I can’t believe how quickly we got on the ship. We walked right on. There wasn’t any lines. We had a little trouble with our “Travel Passports” our sofa stamp is in our government passports and we can’t “travel” with our government passports. However, Jeremy had his military orders and they took a copy and we walked on the ship. The Divina is so elegant. Oh my word! The interior design is just breathtaking. They have 4 Swarovski staircases. It is so pretty! Our balcony suit is beautiful. We opted not to purchase a drink package thinking we can get water at the buffet and at dinner like we have on our other cruises. However, this cruise does not give you water at dinner. So instead of running to the 14th floor every time we want a drink we opted to buy a non alcohol drink package. To include milkshakes. So our first order of business was to have some fancy drinks. We explored the ship a little had some lunch and just enjoyed relaxing before we left the port. We had our muster at 5:30pm and it was the fastest muster in The history of musters Crazy! MSC is very efficient. 
We were off to unpack and get ready for dinner. 
Jeremy was super disappointed in dinner not very many choices and his little heart was broken. Nothing really new to try and he was sad. 
We played some games, enjoyed a milkshake and went to the night showing of “The Tribute” a modern representation of some of the most famous Opera arias featuring Enrico Bernardi, Alexander Vondarchuck.
These men can sing! Wow!   We ended the night at the piano bar enjoying another delicious frozen drink.

Day 1 of our 20th Wedding Anniversary Trip

Jeremy and I will be celebrating 20 years of marriage this July. However, because we are moving back to the states in July we opted to celebrate a little early. Les and Rachel decided to join us, how awesome is that? We get to spend 10 days together, kid free. Exploring Italy, Spain, France. We are going on a MSC 7 night 8 day Western Mediterranean Cruise.
Day 1- Travel Day 
We got up at 5:00am to finish up some last minute packing, made some breakfast sandwiches and pack a picnic lunch. Les and Rachel picked us up at 6:15am we dropped Kayden off at seminary and just like that we are kid free and headed to Genova, Italy. 

We made our first stop three hours later in Basel, Germany to fill up one last time on our Esso Card. 

We then drove another 1hr 20min to Lucern, Switzerland where we got to spend about an hour exploring downtown. It was just beautiful driving through Switzerland. The mountains were still covered in snow. It was pretty magical. We got to see several waterfalls.  Some were pretty little others were quite impressive. 

We then drove another 3 hours to see Milan. Holy smokes is Milan ginormous. One of the things Milan is most famous for is the Piazza Duomo. It has 150 spires and a little over 10,100 square meters. It was just beautiful. We had to wait about 35 min to go inside and it was worth the wait. I wish we had more time in Milan to explore.  I wanted to pay to go to the top of the Cathedral.  But alas we just didn't have time.  We still had another 2 hours until we reached our destination.   

Les was a rockstar and drove the entire day. We finished up the last two hours of our trip and made it to Genova checked into our hotel and headed to a local restaurant for some dinner.

After Jeremy spent some time calling different restaurants  to get us a dinner reservation.
We then got on the trains and headed to downtown Genova for some dinner.
