First Scripture Topic Missionary Work

This year as a family we wanted to do something a little different for scripture study.  Instead of reading 1 Chapter a day completing the Book of Mormon in just 9 months, we decided we would try a new approach to our scripture study.  We sat down as a family and came up with a list of Topics we wanted to learn more about.
Here is our list of Topics.
Prayer, Scriptures, Missionary Work, Personal revelation, Repentance, Faith, Tithing, Fasting, Priesthood, Work & Self Reliance, Family, Friends, Agency & Accountability, Gratitude, Sabbath Day Observance, Service, Respect, Jesus Christ, Holy Ghost, Baptism, Resurrection.
We put all the topics into a hat and drew out  5 topics.  Our first Topic was Missionary Work. We studied Missionary work everyday for about 20 min a day. It took a little over 4 weeks to complete this topic.  We learned so much and the discussions were amazing.

Here is a list of things we all Learned.

Missionary Work:
Kayden Learned: D&C 11:21-“ Study& Learn” the Gospel before we “Teach” The Gospel.

Brooklyn Learned: D&C 75:4 When we talk about and share our testimonies, our testimony grows and so do the people we share them with.

Chandler Learned: D&C 61:35 You have to have a “Buddy” aka a companion. We serve 2x2

Kayden Learned: Alma 29:8, D&C 90:11 Will preach unto all Nations in their own tongue.  As of Aug 2013 the Book of Mormon has been translated into 109 Languages. AWESOME!

Brooklyn Learned: D&C 42:12-13When you teach the gospel it needs to be from Church approved sources Like Scriptures, Prophets, talks, Ensign etc
We need to teach about Baptism, and the Remission of Sins.
Chandler Learned: Jacob 1:19 Teach the word of God with all diligence. Do all you can, work Super hard.
Luke 15:3-7 Go and find his Lost Sheep (Sheep = People)

John 21:17 Feed my Sheep (Feed=Word of God, Sheep = Teach my children.)

Mosiah 18:9.Stand as a Witness of God at all times in all things and in all Places.

D&C 18:15- Bring one Soul unto me how great will be your Joy.  (That one Soul is “YOUR SOUL”)

Acts 10:42 We have to teach Doctrine and then testify of that Same Doctrine.  (So we teach and then bear Testimony.)

We have really enjoyed learning and talking about Missionary Work.

Labor Day= 4th of July Celebration

Our 4th of July was cancelled because of  Rain. It was rescheduled for Labor Day.
Here we are ready to have some 4th of July/Labor day fun.
Jer and the kids

Me and the kids.

The kids with the Eagle. I love them.

The boys wanted to ride this really cool Plastic ball called a Zorb.  Chandler is definitely my Daredevil.  They wouldn't let him ride because he was too small.  He was so sad. Next year buddy.  Kayden was so excited to ride.  He has gotten better when it comes to "High Adventure".  Heights still scare him to death. However, he really enjoyed this ride.

Jer went with Kayden.  They got to ride a couple time around the field.

Only here is the problem, Kayden's buckle kept coming off so Dad opted to get off and let Kayden finish the ride.  Looks like a lot of fun.  Brooklyn, absolutely wanted nothing to do with this activity.

Our next adventure was watching the Soldiers have a watermelon eating contest.  The lady on the end was struggling eating all this watermelon so they asked for a volunteer to come and help her.  Kayden was all over that. Fun!

Brooklyn, enjoyed all the little activities they had for the kids.

Kayden taking his turn hitting the bags.

Cute Chandler winning the race. Go Chan Go!

Brooklyn and her Friend Kendal or as she would say "Sister". Cute matching orange mustaches.

Kendal, Brooklyn and Paige, decorating Visors.  Got to love girls and their art.

Beautiful Brooklyn!!!! I<3 her.

Kayden was rocking the Limbo.  Wow!!!

He almost made it.  He landed on his you know what.  Ha ha ha

My Brave, Amazing ChanMan!!! Don't forget Sweet and Smart too.
Look mom I have a lizard.  Sweet!!!

These girls played together all day.  So much fun!!!!

This was the cutest thing.  I just can't get over the doggie sling.  Bahaha!!!

Electric slide.  I can still bust a move for sure.  Loved dancing with my kiddos.

Cha Cha Slide.  We were totally rocking it.

My Handsome, strong, amazing  Boy, Kayden.

Chandler and his friend Dallin
The kids went to splish and splash for a couple hours.  I guess it was pretty quiet.  Just a handful of people.  Che and I went to the commissary and picked up stuff for dinner.  We had Turkey Burgers with homemade Fries and Fruit salad.  Yummy!!!  WE ended the night going to the park to watch some awesome fireworks.  So much fun!!  Our 4th of July Celebration was amazing.  Fun activities, and even better company. Thanks Tibbits for joining us.
