Valentine Traditions

We love Valentines! Not only was Valentines Day Our first date (Feb 14, 1998) but we love to celebrate this fun Holiday.Jeremy and I use to celebrate this holiday as an "Anniversary" we would go out to dinner and have a wonderful evening.  But as the years have passed we have opted to no longer go out to eat but start a new tradition So three years ago we started including the kids in the celebration and making a special meal, drinks and a yummy dessert. The night before I decorate the Kitchen.  Sometimes I get balloons (this year I didn't make it to the dollar store.)  So we settled for our cute little banner, table cloth, plates, cups, and napkins all full of hearts and Valentines. I also set out all the Valentines from me to Jer and the kids. So the kids wake up to this red, pink and white table full of all their Valentines. How fun is that?
Brooklyn, got something special for everyone. She was so excited to shop (again using her own hard earned money) She was so excited to personalize each one and include it on the table of "Love".  It was so sweet and very special.
Thanks to our Releif Society Meeting this month I made lots of other super cute valentines for Jer and the Kids. I made little heart pillows, rice crispy Kisses, flowers with a  sucker in the middle, and cute saying on the bottom of a little bag of Hershey kisses. This is what Jer and the kids place setting looked like. So much fun.
This year thanks to "Pintrest" (Yes, my new Love) I made these cute Robot Valentines.  They are made with tic tacs, starburst, and skittles.  The Valentine says, "I'm  nuts and bolts about you love Mom or (Tina for Jer)".
Jeremy made one of the best desserts ever it was a triple chocolate mousse cake. Dar Simmons from church made this for our dessert at the Valentines RS meeting and it was sooo delicious I got the recipe and Jer made it for our Valentines Dessert  It was so delicious. I made  Ranch Pork Chops, garlic mashed potatoes,(Another recipe from pintrest) and mixed vegetables, Jer made some Jambia Juice smoothies YUMMY!!! What a fun family tradition. So much better then crowded, long waits and poor service at a restaurant. Happy Valentines Everyone!!!
